Gymnocladus canadensis Lam. - Kentucky coffe-trees gros in North America, mainly in the regions with continental climate. In Serbia, it is a rarely cultivated species, most often grown in the parks and tree-rows. On Fruska Gora, at the site of the forest of common oak, hornbeam and lime on diluvium (Tilio-carpino-Quercetum roboris), there is a well conserved group of trees aged 78 years. In the best preserved part of the plantation the trees reach the height of up to 36.5 m and diameter up to 48.8 cm. Compared to the initial planting space, (3x3 m) Kentucky coffee-tree has a high degree of tree vitality, till age of 78 years, on average 67.3%, and therefore also a high production of wood volume (V=948.1 cubic m/ha).
