The aim of this study was to analyze the quality parameters of pepper seeds (germination and energy of germination), germinated on different temperatures and using different methods for germination testing, and to determine which method is the most appropriate for sweet pepper germination. Results obtained by this experiment are very important for sweet pepper production because of the high price of seeds. Experiment has been carried out at the National Laboratory for Seed Testing in Novi Sad, Serbia, and seed quality parameters of three sweet pepper varieties: Anita, Kurtovska Kapija and Aleva NK were analyzed during 2002 and 2003. Standard methods had been used for germination testing. Energy of germination has been measured after 7 days and after 14 days seed germination, number of atypical and non germinated seeds, as well as total germination were recorded.
