In this work extraction of Macleaya cordata using different solvent was studied. The best results was achieved using ethanol (80% m/m) as a solvent. Kinetic of extraction process in the system: M. cordata (herb)-ethanol was also explored and the values of the parameters for fast and slow extraction determined. This parameter depended on different extraction conditions. In order to achieve correct result, high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) used to determinate the main alkaloid (sanguinarine and chelerythrine). The most appropriate way to separate and determinate this two alkaloid was to use column Nucleosil C18 as a stationary phase, and mixture of solvent CH3CN:KH2PO4 (10.5 mmol/cubic dm), pH=2.5 (3:7, v/v) as a mobile phase. The most significant result in the extraction of the Macleaya cordata was achieved using the mixture of ethanol/water as a solvent and carbon dioxide under pressure (50, 100 and 150) dissolved in it.
