Planned queen bee breeding means simultaneous breeding of a large number of qualitative queen bees in a few cycles during the season. All the planned queen bee breeding methods, or the queen cells, are based on the fact that the bees build rescue queen cells on the available larvae, in case of sudden disappearance of a queen bee. There are two basic ways used in planned queen bee breeding: without larvae transplantation, or with larvae transplantation. In the Vojvodina Province (Serbia), two types of corniola bees have been selected: Apis mellifera carnica and a variant of cornialan bee - Apis mellifera carnica banatica. During the period from 2005 to 2007, the following production parameters were monitored: honey productivity, aggressiveness, swarm instict, and brood cleaning instict.
