Profitability in production of watermelons mostly depends on earliness of ripening period. According to that, main goal is to achieve earlier ripening of fruits. In order to achieve these, any measurements can contribute: choice of cultivar, way of production, applied technical practices, as well as some special measurements like: mulching or crop covering. In this research it is shown that mulching with PE foil has a significant impact on forming of overall yield, and on forming the higher yield of earliest fruits. Combined appliance of mulch and agro textile additionally increase earliest fruits weight, which was 20.468-22.610 kg/ha higher than in control variant. Agro textile (placed over mulc variant) had increased early fruit weight for 5.467 kg/ha (32%), and overall yield for 2.618 kg/ha (11%).
