Risk assessment is important process that antecedes the issuance of livestock insurance policy. Insurance practice defined several risk groups, as they exhibit influence of risks similar in nature and severity, according to status of various factors: species, growth, type of production, exploiting, farming objects, nutrition, health protection, price of animals and insurance claim/premium ratio. Implementation of biosecurity measures, as well as animal welfare, per definition, leads to lower risk and insurance premiums. At least in theory, as years to came have to prove the statement empirically.
