American giant fluke (Fascioloides magna) is a parasite of cervids, which originate from North America, and is also spread in Europe. The latest investigations point that this parasite is also present in Serbia. The most intensive changes caused by this parasite are on the liver. Sixty seven livers and portal lymph nodes of fallow deer (Dama dama) of different age and sex were examined and described in this paper. Based on these investigations it can be concluded that American giant liver fluke is present in the population of fallow deer (Dama dama) in Serbia. This parasite has pathologic effect on the liver and has bad influence on the health status of these animals. Pathomorphologic methods are very important in the diagnosis of this disease. Adequate diagnosis and therapy are important in spreading this parasitosis on other game, and also on domestic ruminants, especially sheep which are aberrant hosts and are very susceptible to this parasite which is always migrating and causes intensive liver parenchyma destruction and can cause massive lethality in flocks.
