It is performed preliminary testing of mechanical harvest of marigold (Calendula officinalis L.) using chamamile harvester, virtual rotated comb type. The influence of penetration of harvester cylinder into canopy, cylinder RPM and machine speed on harvesting characteristics, i.e.: harvester yield of different inflorescences classes according to stem lengths (0-2, 2.1-4, 4.1-6, 6.1-8, 8.1-10 and greater than 10 cm), as well as harvest losses in a form of not picked-up and downfallen inflorescences. Five harvest passes were performed. Investigation showed that marigold can be successfully harvested with this type of harvester, especially regarding achieved share of inflorescences with stems shorted that 2 cm. However, the problem of shortening of long stems, and separation of harvested stalks and leaves should be solved. It was also recorded that the row distance of plants should be adjusted to the tractor tires distance, in order to reduce damage of plants and losses.
