Energetic, carbohydrate and fat, mineral and vitamin nutrition of high-producing cows is explored. The cows of Holstein origin are tested at breeding farms of the Leningrad Region. The cows are high yielders and they have been examined during 17 years (1990-2007). The main biochemical blood parameters are studied. A high level of variability is determined for glucose content depending on a year months and lactation stages and a low level is done for ketone body content. These substances are in different concentrations in blood of daughters of different bulls. Metabolism of the cows is studied at their feeding by silage and hay concentrated rations with low amount of hay and without storage roots. Quality requirements are developed for grassy feeds and combined feeds. A feeding rations are optimized to supply realization of genetic potential by 10000 kg of milk and more for a lactation period. Zinc and iodine addition into cow ration increases milk yields by 11,6% and milk fatness by 0.26% when it is realized in the 1 half of lactation at a stalled period. Using of feed additive Atseton-Energia increases milk productivity by 464 kg (or 6%) at a dose of 1 kg per a head daily during 2 weeks before calving and during 8 weeks after calving. Sugar syrup addition into rations without storage roots raises milk productivity up to 18.5%.
