Precondition for the sea cucumber cultivation in the Vladimir bay (the sea of Japan)

The results of sea cucumber cultivation in the Vladimir Bay (the sea of Japan) are presented. Sea cucumber cultivation in natural conditions is noted to be one of the main factors providing a relative stability of sea cucumber stocks under increasing anthropogenic impact on the Bay ecosystem. The peculiarities of larvae distribution in plankton (water) and their setting at difference substrata are revealed. The main concentrations of larvae are located in the Northern, Medium and Southern Bays. The optimal substrate is ahnfeltia, on which the highest number of larvae is noted (1 700 units/square m). The maximum number is 2500 and it is fixed in the upper layer of 1.5 m. Rates of juveniles growth in pots are determined. The conclusion is that it is possible to cultivate sea cucumber in the Vladimir Bay
