Basic cations in samples of selected cambisols groups of Partial Monitoring System - Soil were analysed (n=74).The soil samples were colected from the depth 0 - 10 cm. Basic cations Mg sup(2+), Ca sup(2+), K sup(+), Na sup(+), pH value in CaCl sup(2), Corg and soil particle lower than 0.01 mm were determined (FIALA ET AL, 1999). The highest portion of Ca sup(2+) of sum of basic cations were found (77% in arable land and 84 % in grassland). Between arable land and grassland are considerable differences in Mg sup(2+) portion (20% in arable land and 12% in grassland). The lowest sum of basic cations were found in Cambisols on acid substrates and lean clays, 2.5 times higher sum of basic cations were determined in Cambisols on carbonate substrates used as grassland. Relation between Ca sup(2+): Mg sup(2+) move from 1.45 :1 to 21.20:1 (average value 8.73:1) in Cambisols used as grassland and from 1.03 :1 to 8.71 :1 (average value 4,49:1) in Cambisols used as arable land. From the viewpoint of Spearman correlation analyses pH value was in relation with Ca sup(2+) (r=0.60) and with Mg sup(2+) (r=0.38), significant correlation were determined between soil particle lower than 0.01 and K+ content (r=0.60) as well as between Mg sup(2+) and Ca sup(2+)(r=0.44).
