On the basis of long-term evaluation of soil characteristics and properties from extensive set of soil pits from all over the Czech Republic and many terrain measurements, it was possible to present soil water holding capacity on a map (in grids) with a relatively high accuracy (eligible error approximately 25%). That makes possible for example more effective proposal of flood controls and facilitation of soil and landscape management.
