Study was conducted by MV. SEAFDEC 2 cruise no. 24-2/2004 during 15 to 31 March 2007 along Exclusive Economic Zone of the Andaman continental shelf in Thai Waters. The specimens were sampled by bottom vertical longline, using J and circle shape hooks randomly, in 20 surveyed stations. The catch composition of shortspine spurdog (Squalus mitsukurii Jordan and Snyder, 1903) was 33.09 percent by weight of total catch whereas its CPUE was 2.35 kg/100 hooks. The variation of catch was not correlated with water depth (100 to 200 m) and bottom temperature. However, shortspine spurdog could not be caught at the depth less than 90 m. Social structure of shortspine spurdog composed of females which significantly greater than the males.
