Study was to evaluate the effects of fixed time artificial insemination (AI) by using progesterone, subsequently given prostaglandin F sub(2) alpha (PGF sub(2) alpha) at progesterone removal and consequent human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) or gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) in variety procedures injection concurrent with fixed time AI to synchronize ovulation 56 h later PGF sub(2) alpha injectation in 78 cross-bred Indu Brazil beef cows in lactation number 2. The cows were divided into 4 groups: Gr. 1-control group 11 cows, Gr. 2-GnRH synthesis 14 cows, Gr. 3-GnRH natural 34 cows, Gr. 4-hCG 19 cows, respectively. Pregnancy was confirmed by rectal palpation 90 d after AI were higher effected (P LT 0.05) in cows given GnRH natural (28/34, 82.35 percent) and hCG (16/19, 84.21 percent) than in the control group while was not effected (P GT 0.05) by treatment with GnRH synthesis (4/14, 28.57 percent). These results suggested that pregnancy following fixed time AI were affected by injection of GnRH natural and hCG in beef cows (P LT 0.05) but was not significantly affected (P GT 0.05) by treatment with GnRH synthesis to stimulate ovulation.
