The results of the comparative analysis of the growth indicators of Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco) on soils under different native forest forming species on the territory of the Republic of Belarus were shown. The research results were important for the introduction of the new species on the territory of Belarus. Soils of pine (Pinus sylvestris), fir (Picea excelsa), oak (Quercus pedunculata), hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) and black alder (Alnus glutinosa) were used in course of the research. The annual (three-year) increment of Douglas fir was compared and analyzed. Dependence of the annual increment of Douglas fir on soil texture (mean annual increment, hydrolytic acidity, fines content ) was shown. The highest indexes of the year increment were obtained on oak, hornbeam and black alder soils. The level of trace elements (magnesium, potassium and phosphorus) was higher in the observed soils. The most intensive growth of seedlings of Douglas fir was stated on the sabulous and acid soils of broadleaf forest rich with earth humus and soil nutrients
