Sixty adult ewes of Ojalada breed were randomly allocated to three groups (n=20) according to three feeding and management systems: an integral diet based on ground straw of cereal (group 1), other one based on an integral diet in large bales of hay (group 2) and the traditional grazing (group 3). Ewes of groups 1 and 2 remained indoors. In each one of the three systems, the evolution of weight (monthly) along the different physiological conditions was evaluated. The sheep of group 3 present, as a whole, the expected performance, with increase of weight from mating to lambing, decrease during the lactation and recovery afterwards. The sheep of the groups 1 and 2 lost weight from mating, maybe originated by the adjustment to the indoors system, but in group 1they recover their initial weight by the end of the lactation. Sheep of group 2 are those who present worse performance along the whole study.
