Diets compounded from barley and white fish meal, containing graded levels of crude protein, were fed to weaner gilts. The levels of the plasma amino acids increased as protein level was raised, but the increases between 15 and 19 per cent dietary crude protein levels were very small. It was tentatively concluded from relationships found between plasma amino acid levels and crude protein supplied, that the crude protein and lysine requirements were 15.7 per cent and 0.86 per cent respectively.
