Selection in Khouzestan east and south sesame local populations and preparation of superior pure lines in way pure line.

In order to selection of pure lines in Behbahan and Dashteazadegan sesame local populations and production of superior lines an experiment was conducted for four years (from 2004 year to 2008 year) at Behbahan Agricultural Research Station.At first year 169 and 100 elective plant from Behbahan and Dashteazadegan local population societies were planted on rows whit 5m long and the space between rows 60 cm. According to sesame improvement suitable characteristics 167 and 117 plants were selected from Behbahan and Dashteazadegan populations. At second year superior plant separately were planted on rows with 5m long and the space between rows 60 cm and were planted after of each 10 rows Behbahan or Dashteazadegan local populations (check). At the end of second year were selected for each of Behbahan and Dashteazadegan populations and production 45 superior plants of 45 superior rows. At third year Behbahan and Dashteazadegan elective plant 4 checks (Behbahan, Dashteazadegan and Dezful local populations and synthetic variety) separately were planted in a 7×7 lattice design with two replications. According to variance analysis results of seed yield, capsule per plant, thousand kernel weight, oil percent and oil yield and resistance to diseases were selected 15 and 11 lines from Behbahan and Dashteazadegan populations.
