Investigation Effect of Glyphosate in Combined with Other Chemical Materials on Control Weeds in Tea Plantations.

In The world tea, about 14-15% of total tea crop is reported to be lost due to weed, infestation. mechanical weed control (with slashing) which is a labor consuming procedure , increases the aeration of topsoil but damages the feeding root system , is a common practice in Iran. Chemical weeding cause minimum of topsoil where feeder roots are concentrated (no-tillage). To determine the most effective herbicide with adjuants and its adequate rate for weed control in tea, an experiment was conducted in tea orchards of Kashef Tea Research station in syahkal. A completely randomized design with 10 treatments, three replications was performed. Herbicide treatments including : Glyphosate 3 , 6 and 12 lit/ha ,Glyphosate mixed with 2-4-D (1.5 + 0.5 lit/ha ) and ( 3.0 + 0.5 lit/ha ) ,Glyphosate mixed with urea ( 3lit/ha + 4 kg/ha) and (1.5 lit/ha + 8 kg/ha) ,Glyphosate mixed with Ammonium sulfate (3 lit/ha + 4 kg/ha) and (1.5lit/ha + 6 kg/ha) rates were treated and compared with the mechanical control. The results showed that all of the herbicides at all applied rates very significantly reduced weed populations in comparison with the control. There was no significant difference among the rates of each herbicide and herbicide mixed with adjuvant however: with notice to environmentally and economically, Glyphosate mixed with Ammonium sulfate (1.5lit/ha + 6kg/ha), can control narrow leaved weeds in tea orchards.
