Study on the Durability and Persistence of Sheep Pox Virus at different Temperatures

The preservation and infectivity ia live attenuated sheep pox virus at different tempretures , including, room tempreture,refrigerator and freezer with and without stabilizer(7.5% sucrose, 2.5% lactalbumin) was investigated.The preservation time were 0-10-20-30 and 60 days and all samples were titrated at the end of 60 day by Reed and Muench method simultaneausly using primary lamb kidney cell culture. The result of the experiment revealed that if the sheep pox vaccine is distributed before lyophilization, there will be a logss of the titre less than 2 log, if it is kept at room temprature. While the loss of the titre will be about 0.5 log at refrigerator (4 degree contigrade).There will be no loss of the titre in freezer for up to two mounth period. presence of stabilizer has not a significent effect on the stability of the VIruS
