To acguire a stable cell line for studying FMD Viroses is an important issue in biological science. At present, BA and BHK cell lines are being used for testing viroses and vaccine Production. Hybrid cell line was made by the technique of somatic cell fusion. At the present study, two types of FMD vinLSes (type 0 and A) were grown on the hybrid cell line in which we observed cytopatic effect with a good titre comparing with BA cell line, Hybrid cell line can be grown in monolayer but it could not be adapted to grow in suspension with two kinds of stoker and RPM! - 1640 media.
