Recently, it is necessary to grasp alpine vegetation distribution using aerial or satellite images while alpine plants ruined awfully. We analyzed a digital aerial image taken by Ultra Cam-D (UCD) and examined possibility for gasping it. Especially, we paid attention to Japanese Stone Pine (Pinus pumila). It grows widely so its distribution was grasped easily by analyzing UCD image. Our result shows that an analysis using NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) was effective to grasp distribution of Japanese Stone Pine existing in the vicinity of Teng-hut where ruin ground spread.
