Measures to prevent physiological disorder in production of high soluble solid Tomatoes in isolated reds

Part of the tomato farms production of high soluble solid tomato under controlled low soil moisture conditions in isolated beds experienced yellowing of leaves, and withering of new leaves. The relationship between fertilizer component and each problem was studied to find preventive measures. 1. Yellowing of leaves occurred when fertilizer with low sulfate ion concentration applied for fertigation was used, suggesting that this problem is due to a shortage of sulfur. The problem was solved by using fertilizer with high sulfur content. 2. Withering of new leaves seemed to occur with urea contained in fertilizer used for fertigation. This problem was solved by using fertilizer that mainly contains nitrate nitrogen as a nitrogen source. 3. Use of improved fertilizer for isolated beds, which contains a higher proportion of nitrate nitrogen and a higher sulfur concentration than the fertilizer used for fertigation, solved the problems of the yellowing of leaves and the withering and dying new leaves, and resulted in improved tomato yields.
