On potential of universities participation in the implementation of ecotourism development programs

This paper considers major tendencies towards the development of ecological tourism in different countries of the world. It suggests areas of universities' scientific and academic work within national and local programs for the development of ecotourism. This research investigates worldwide experience of developing ecological tourism and the possibility of its implementation at the national level with universities participating in its development programs. Analysis of the regulations, including National Programs for Tourism Development, and content analysis of specialized Internet sites of organizations dealing with the development of ecological tourism has been done.
