The major goal of forest cultivation is to reach by the cutting age the maximum volume of wood accumulated in maximum possible thick dimension stems. Making low density young stands of the number of stems below 2,000 pieces haE-1 is one of the ways of achieving this goal. The course of growth of similar stands, not described by any of the currently known growth models, is highly peculiar. During the past two years the parameters of the 213 low density young stands arranged in pine, spruce, and birch forests have been analyzed. The field data reveal significant local differences between the courses of stand growth. It is expected than in similar conifer forests the standing volume by the cutting age would be as high as 500 m**3haE-1. Because of the significant volume of suppressed crop the thinning of similar stands is believed to be unfeasible.
