The growth of intensely thinned or sparse young grey alder stands | Intensīvi izretināto vai reto baltalkšņu jaunaudžu struktūra

英语. The structure of grey alder stands has been evaluated in a number of studies. Still, Pauls Mūrnieks is so far the only researcher who in his 1948 research work for the candidate thesis arranged gray alder stands following stand parameters in three site quality and age classes. Intense thinning of young stands lately performed in pine, spruce and birch forests has almost never been carried out in grey alder stands. There are also no permanent sample plots that could be used as a model to forecast the development of grey alder stands and the potential timber yield. To identify thinned or sparse grey alder stands in mature forests a following regularity was used: at the equal mean stand height the mean diameter of thinned stands is greater compared to the stands that have developed from overstocked young stands (about 55,000 trees ha-1). The objects for this research are located in the Vidusdaugava (VD) and Zemgale (Z) Regional Forestry. Selected were the stands starting from the mean height of 10 m, sample plots were established, and measurements made in totally 31 stands. The stands thinned to 4,000 trees ha-1 before the mean height had reached 5 m now, at the mean height of 15 m, have in the VD dominant stand by 2,000 trees (in Z by 1,000 trees) more than given in the Pauls Mūrnieks’ yield tables (in fully stocked site index I stands that have reached the height of 5m the number of trees is 16,000 trees ha-1). It is important to mention that in thinned grey alder forests there is nearly no stunted stand. The basal area in VD stands is slightly (~5 m2 ha-1) greater than in Z stands. At the stand mean height 20 m in thinned stands the basal area exceeds the quantity given in the data base by 10-15 m2 ha-1 (the quantity in the data base is similar in both localities analyzed). Also the stem volume of the dominant stand varies in line with the basal area. In the thinned stands at the mean height of 10 m the stem volume is similar to that in unthinned stands (around 100 m3 ha-1) but later on the volume increment in thinned stands is nearly twice as high as given in the database: in 20 m high stands the standing volume is as high as 344 m3 ha-1 (in the database 218 m3 ha-1 only). It is important to mention that the standing volume behaviour in thinned stands fully agrees with the standing volume variations given in the yield tables for fully stocked stands of site index I.

拉脱维亚语. Baltalkšņu audžu struktūra vērtēta samērā daudzu zinātnieku darbos, taču šo audžu taksācijas elementu vienīgais sakārtojums pa trīs bonitātēm un vecumiem atrodams P. Mūrnieka 1948. gada zinātņu kandidāta disertācijā. Jaunaudžu intensīva izretināšana, kas pēdējos desmit gados tiek izpildīta priežu, egļu un bērzu mežos, baltalkšņu audzēs tikpat kā nenotiek. Nav ierīkoti arī ilglaicīgi parauglaukumi, kurus atkārtoti pārmērot, varētu prognozēt audžu tālāko att īstību un iespējamo gala rezultātu. Izretināto vai reto baltalkšņu audžu atpazīšanai mūsu pieaugušajos mežos izmantota likumsakarība, kas rāda, ka šādās audzēs koku vidējais caurmērs, pie vienāda vidējā augstuma, ir lielāks nekā audzēs, kas veidojušās no pārbiezinātām (ap 55 tūkst. gab. ha-1) jaunaudzēm. Pētāmie objekti atrasti Vidusdaugavas MS (VD) un Zemgales MS (Z), tur izraudzītas audzes, kuru augstums ir 10 m un vairāk. Ierīkoti parauglaukumi, veikti attiecīgi mērījumi un analizēta 31 audze. Šādās, visticamāk līdz 5 m augstumam izretinātās, 15 m augstās audzēs, ar apmēram 4000 kociņiem uz 1 hektāra, valdaudzes koku skaits Vidusdaugavas MS ir par 2000 kokiem un Zemgales MS par 1000 kokiem lielāks nekā uzrādīts P. Mūrnieka augšanas gaitas tabulās, kur 1. bonitātes pilnas biezības, 5 m augstās baltalkšņu audzēs tas ir 16 tūkst. gab. ha-1. Nozīmīgi atzīmēt, ka izretinātajās audzēs starpaudze tikpat kā neuzkrājas. Kokaudzes šķērslaukums Vidusdaugavas MS ir mazliet (≈5 m2 ha-1) lielāks nekā Zemgales MS mežos, un, pie audžu vidējā augstuma 20 m, retināto audžu šķērslaukums par 10-15 m2 ha-1 pārsniedz datu bāzē uzrādīto lielumu, kas abās pētījumā izmantotajās mežsaimniecībās ir vienāds. Analogi šķērslaukumam mainās arī valdaudzes krāja: 10 m augstās izretinātās un neretinātās audzēs tā ir vienāda (ap 100 m3 ha-1), taču turpmākajā augšanas gaitā krājas uzkrāšanās temps izretinātajās ir gandrīz divreiz lielāks nekā datu bāzē uzrādītais; 20 m augstās analizētajās audzēs koksnes krāja sasniedz 344 m3 ha-1 iepretīm 218 m3 ha-1. Lietderīgi atzīmēt, ka krājas izmaiņas izretinātajās audzēs pilnīgi sakrīt ar P. Mūrnieka augšanas gaitas tabulās 1. bonitātes pilnas biezības audzēs uzrādītajām.
