The properties of humic acids in forest Dystric Arenosols located on South Podlasie Lowland [Poland]

The properties (elemental composition, VIS and IR spectroscopy) of humic acids in organic Ol, Ofh) and mineral (ABv, Bv) horizons of Dystric Arenosols located in forest nature reserves of the South Podlasie Lowland (Poland) were investigated. The humic acids of organic horizons in comparison with mineral ones were characterized by lower content of carbon, higher content of hydrogen, higher value of C/H ratio and A(4/6) ratio. Probably the humic acids in mineral horizons were characterized by higher concentration of aromatic groups, higher molecular mass and lower lability in soil profile
