In this paper are presented results of the studies on durable resistance to wheat leaf rust pathogen Puccinia triticina Eriks. grouped into following themes: Types of resistance toward wheat rust pathogens; Inheritance modes of wheat resistance to Puccinia triticina; Models for gene-for-gene relationship host: pathogen; Sources of resistance and Puccinia triticina pathotypes; Transfer of resistance genes toward Puccinia triticina into identical recurrent parents; Boolean algebraic approach to modelling of mutual gene-for-gene relationships in the system Puccinia triticina: wheat resistant hybrids: external conditions; Accumulation of genes toward Puccinia triticina; Central field nursery of leaf rust; Testing of seedlings of lines with accumulation of resistance genes; Selection of hybrids with accumulation of resistance genes toward Puccinia triticina; Identification and mapping of Lr resistance gene using of DNA markers and their marking; Mapping of leaf rust resistance genes in wheat.
