Control of cobweb disease of cultivated mushroom by Prochloraz-Mn and biofungicide Timorex

Cobweb disease, caused by Cladobotryum dendroides is one of the most serious diseases of cultivated mushroom Agaricus bisporus in Serbia. It has been controlled by commercial fungicide Prochloraz-Mn, which is officially recommended for mushroom cultivation in EU countries. Tea tree oil is an essential oil of the Australian plant Melaleuca alternifolia. A new organic formulation, Timorex 66 EC, containing 66% of tea tree oil (Biomor Israel Ltd.), is effective against a broad spectrum of pathogens in plants, without causing phytotoxic effects. The objective of this study was to evaluate biological efficacy of biofungicide Timorex in controlling cobweb disease in a mushroom growing room.
