The effects of raw and extruded soy feed with reduced trypsin inhibiter [i.e. inhibitor] content on broiler chickens

The main topic of this research were the effects of using raw and extruded soy beans as a dominant protein component on fattening broiler chickens with the Kunitz soy bean type - with the reduced trypsin inhibitor content and standard soy bean sort of the Nena type and the corresponding broiler production variations. The research was carried out on four groups of broiler chickens of the heavy line hybrid type (Arbor Acres) with 100 in all, using the factorial experiment methods 2x2 during a period of 42 days. In conclusion: The highest values for body mass, weight gain as well as the most efficient feed conversion were achieved by the broiler chickens which fed with the soybean mixtures that contained extruded soybean of the Kunitz sort with the reduced content of trypsin inhibitors. The final body mass of the broiler chickens which were fed with coarse meals made of raw Kunitz type soybean were 11.55% higher than the body masses of the chickens which were fed with coarse meals of the conventional soybean of the Nena type. Alhough it resulted in slightly lower production results when compared to extruded soybean, the experiment showed that raw soybean of the Kunitz type with the reduced trypsin inhibitor content can safety be used since there were no fatalities among the test subjects. Using the raw soybean type with the reduced amount of trypsin inhibitors did not result in a significant reduction of the overall weight gain which implies that it could be used for domestic animal feed within thermal treatment.
