In experiments carried put in 2005-2009 dormant seeds and germinating seeds and 2-3 day-old sprouts of different agricultural crops were exposed to magnetic field (MF) having frequency of 1 to 30 Hz and induction of 25 mTl. The objects were selected so as to cover the representatives of different classes, families, genera and species. Within a species compared were varieties, hybrids, plants having different types of cytoplasm and ploidy. A pronounce stimulated effect of MF having frequency 1 to 12 HZ on the mitotic activity of apical root and stem meristems was found out. The similar effect was not observed under frequency of MF 15 and 30 HZ. For effect, the duration of exposure should be at least 45 min. Repeated exposures enhanced no effect. The influence of MF on dry seed retained for 3 days. If within this time seeds did not start germinating, the treatment effect disappeared. How much pronounced was a plant response depended on the parameters of MF, exposure conditions and peculiarities of an object. It is proposed to create a genetic collection of plants different in stimulating effect of MF. The pre-seeding treatment of seeds with MF provides early germination of seeds. Further, in the experimental plants compared to the control plants the width of leaf plates was truly larger and the yield was greater by 39%. The findings allow recommending to use MF in the agricultural practice and different biotechnological processes required for greater number of dividing cells
