A combine for harvesting broom corn developed and tested by the Volgograd State Agricultural Academy is described. Mechanical damages of leaf and steam mass do not exceed 2.5%, branch breaking is practically absent, grain dockage is lower than 1.5%, macro-damages of grain are fully absent and micro-damages are inconsiderable. Threshing sorghum is possible in milky-wax ripeness of grain and humidity of leaf and steam mass of 60% and less. The combine structure allows harvesting also durra and sweet sorghum. But this requires readjustment. Sweet sorghum is harvested by using a changeable tractor trailer 2PTS-4 and transported to the place where sorghum is processed for sugar. Leaf and steam mass of durra is harvested by the combined together with a leaf chopper. The cutter and conveyer are taken off, the tractor trailer is released and the leaf chopper is attached. In doing so, the standing plants are first threshed by a direct-flow remote beating chamber and then are milled by a leaf chopper. The combine practically does not damage the grain and can be used for harvesting sorghum at selection-breeding plots
