Evaluation of furazed 10 GR (carbofuran) for the control of jassid, jacobiasca lybica, on eggplant

An experiment was conducted at the University of Gezira Research Farm during season 2005/06 to evaluate the efficacy of Furazed 10 GR for the control of jassid on eggplant. The first application of the tested product, which was applied at planting, gave excellent control of jassid until the fourth week. Its performance was comparable to that of the counterparts and significantly better than that of the untreated control. The second and third applications did not have any effect against jassid. The treatments of Furazed 10 GR, its counterparts and the standard had significantly higher number of plants per plot and higher yield than the untreated control
