The aim of the study was to determine the risk chemical elements in livers, breast and leg muscles of mallards (Anas platynrhynchos). The mallards were hunted in defined locality in Easter Slovakia. Contents of cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry and expressed in mg per kg wet weight. The highest mean levels of Cd, Pb and Cu (0.044; 0,232; 2,220) were recorded in liver of mallards. On the other hand, the highest mean levels of Ni and Zn (0.417; 212.650) were noticed in leg and breast muscles. Higher content of Pb and Ni in leg than breast muscles should be affected due to used shots. The minimal differences were observed between the content of Cd, Zn and Cu in leg and breast muscle and may be related to habitat specificity.
