The aim of the presented study was to survey the cumulation of lead in individual anatomic parts of potato (Solanum tuberosum, L.) - potato tops, potato skins and potato tubers. The experiment was realized by the form of pot vegetation trial. We used the soil from locality Výčapy – Opatovce, with addition of basic fertilizer with superphosphate, KCl, ammonium sulphate. Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) was the tested crop. In this experiment 4 varietes of potatoes were evaluated. Heavy metals in these samples were analyzed by AAS method. In soil samples the analyses on the heavy metals content in the leach of aqua regia were realized. The exceeded limit value was determined for total content of lead by 53 %. In potato tops the highest content was observed in late potatoes variety Desiree. The highest lead concentration in potato skin was found in variety Livera. In samples of potato tubers the content of 0.2713 mg per kg Pb in variety Livera; 0.2275 mg per kg Pb in variety Impala; 0.1568 mg per kg Pb in variety Agria and 0.1088 mg per kg Pb in variety Desiree was determined. Obtained results of lead content were compared with their maximum admissible amounts by Slovak standards (0.1 mg per kg). On the basis obtained results were claimed that the concentration of lead had overlimit the highest admissible amounts.
