Wild boar (Sus serofa) occupies a large area with numerous subspecies. Following subspecies are distributed in Europe: S. serofa serofa, S. serofa attila, S. scrofa meriodionalis, S. serofa algira a S. serofa lybieus. The main target of this study is description of genetic diversity and differentiation of wild board populations in Europe. 217 tissue and blood samples were collected for this purpose. DNA was extracted by method according to SAMBROOK et al. (1989). We employed 14 microsatellites markers for genetic analysis. These markers were optimized for DNA amplification, run on ABI 3130 genetic analyzer and evaluated using GeneMapper software. Population genetics analysis was calculated using POPGENE (YEH et al. 1997). All analyzed loci were polymorphic. Total number of allels per locus (n) ranged from 4 to 20 and effective number of allels (n) ranged from 1.986 to 8.226. Observed (H) and expected (H) heterozygosity ranged from Ho 0.496 to 0.878, H, 0.393 to 0.855.
