The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of Arginine Silicate Inositol complex (ASI; Arginine 49.47%, Silicone 8.2%; Inositol 25%) ) supplementation on performance and bone mineral density (BMD) in Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) exposed to the high ambient temperature of 34 oC. Heat exposure decreased performance and bone mineralization when basal diet was fed (P = 0.001). ASI supplementation had no effect on feed intake, body weight, feed efficiency and carcass traits (P > 0.05) in quails reared under TN or HS conditions. BMD was significantly improved by ASI supplementation in both TN and HS groups (0.72 vs 0.60 TN vs HS, P> 0.05). Serum osteocalcin (OC), dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) concentrations and alkaline phosphatase activity (ALP) increased, whereas tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-a and C-reactive protein (CRP) concentrations decreased as dietary ASI supplementation increased in quail reared under heat stress (P= 0.001). In the ASI group, the amount of Ca, P, Mg and Mn in the excreta decreased (P >0.05), while concentrations of these minerals in tibia ash increased in quail reared under heat stress conditions (P > 0.05). In conclusion, ASI supplementation to basal diet significantly improved bone mineralization in quail and did not impact feed consumption, weight gain or feed efficiency.

Sıcak ortamda bulunan kanatlı rasyonlarına Arginine Silicate Inositol kompleks (ASI; Arginine 49.47%, Silicone 8.2%; Inositol 25%) ilave ederek, görulen iskelet anormalileri ve kemik dokusundaki bozukluklar iyileştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. ASI ilave edilen gruplarda, ekskrement Ca, P, Mg ve Mn miktarları duşerken, bu minerallerin tibiadaki konsantrasyonları arttı. Sonuç olarak, bazal diete ASI ilave edilmesi ile kemik mineralizasyonu önemli derecede iyileşti, yem tuketimi, canlı ağırlık artışı ve yemden yararlanma etkilenmedi.
