Analysis of the 2007 drought characteristics and its disastrous influence over maize yields in Bulgaria was made in the paper. The following conclusions were made as a result of the investigation: The draught and the extreme temperatures in Bulgaria through 2007 ware disastrous for the yields of corn, grown without irrigation, which are the predominant growing conditions in this country. The maize even didnt reach harvest in some country regions ant this made problems with animal feeding. The yields in regions where harvest was reached were extreme low toward previous years - to 800 - 1200 - 2200 kg/ha grain yield by agro statistic data average 1900 kg/ha by IASAS data or drop toward 2006 year from 465%. The drought variation of different tested hybrids trough 2007 were extremely large - from 560 kg/ha to 3750 kg/ha, and show the great importance of hybrid choice for harvest. Yields obtained at irrigation growing conditions through 2007 however were from 574% to 758% bigger them the no irrigation growing conditions, or in grain from 10050 kg/ha to 11180 kg/ha what many times exceeds outlays for the irrigation. There is no doubt about that irrigation possibility in global warm spell conditions and often repeated drought will be basic factor in Bulgaria for stable and high maize yields.
