The biological activity of weakly saline soil solonetz from Belozem village, Plovdiv region was studied. The emzyme activity of these soils was studied for the first time. The analysis carried out has resulted in the following conclusions: - The quantily of microorganisms in the saline soils from Belozem village is lower than that in non-saline cultivated soils in adjacent areas. - The higher salt content of soil results inhibits the microorganisms growth. - The actynomycetes, oligonitrophyls and microscopic fungi are more in the surface horizon. - The two enzymes invertase and protease have been indentified only in the surface A horizon 0-20 cm, while urease has been identified throughout the whole dept of the horizon.
