The plum cultivar Strinava is breeding in the Plum Experimental Station in the town of Dryanovo by Marko Vitanov and Petko Marinov. The cultivar is auto fertile, very fruitful, the fruits are very tasty. It is tolerant to Plum Pox Virus, resistant to turning frosts and late of spring cold spells and manifests a good dry stability. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, for making of compotes, marmalade, jam and drying. In the period 2005-2008 were determined the next indices: pnenophases of blossoming, crown sizes, the content of dry matter, sugars, organic acids, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium. The average yield is 3250 kg/da. The tree has a moderate growth, the average crown volume is 21.45 m3. The blossoming is on the average early, the average date of the beginning of full flower is on April 15th. The fruits is middle large, with easy separate stone, with very good quality, with high content of dry matter, sugars and favorable ratio of sugars/organic acids.
