Волжские сортообразцы в условиях Беларуси с использованием новых подходов оценки селекционных результатов

Results of ecological testing of Volzhsky (Volga) variety samples of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum) in the conditions of the Republic Belarus on the basis of application of new approaches to estimation of selection results were presented. It was found that graphic and sector approach method of evaluation and indexes of eight-dimension character of yield structure made it possible to determine the limiting indicator – the number of grains per ear in the conditions of a long day in Belarus. Research results showed that Volzhsky varieties in the conditions of Belarus showed the reasonable genetic flexibility and productivity, as well as preserved their varietal properties. The applied graphic and sector approach revealed the limiting factor – insufficient number of grains per ear, that was caused by the long day local conditions. In spite of the low number of grains per ear, the Volzskaya S3 (line) produced higher yields – on 21% higher the standard indexes. This index was formed by means of a high mutually compensatory ability, i.e. yield growth by means of other elements
