Considering food competitiveness as an economic category we allocate major factors constraining increase of level of competitiveness of a process industry, and also the basic competitive advantages. The problem of national food competitiveness at which decision realization of a strategic course of innovative development of spheres of agrarian and industrial complex where the leading role should belong to the state is necessary is considered. In the article the food competitiveness as an economic event is considered with the reference to the country as a whole and represents a system of economic mutual relations and mechanisms which it is impossible without forecasting of various variants of their development. The expediency of the use of existing production functions is opened at strategic forecasting of movement of indicators of national economy, approaches to the re-structuring of the enterprises on the basis of the economic clusters are developed, the maintenance of the processes of the re-structuring and their role in maintenance of competitiveness of the enterprise is defined.
