In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were analyzed requirements to quality of flax (Linum usitatissimum) fibre, characteristic of its separate indexes and factors rendering influence on increasing of fibre flax quality. In course of the study there were analyzed the following indexes: quantity of long and short scutched flax fibre supply to the Orsha Linen Mill (Belarus); analysis of flax fibre waste quantity (after flax fibre processing; yarn output; output of flax comber materials) at the Orsha Linen Mill; results of instrumental analysis of scutched flax fibre for breaking force; results of instrumental analysis of scutched flax fibre for flexural properties. Research results showed that quality of flax fibre substantially depended on the genetic potential of a cultivated variety. Adherence to specifications on flax cultivation and harvesting rendered significant influence on yielding capacity and quality of fibre.
