The expansion of world trade in food, changes in eating habits and contamination of food have also led to changes in the productive sector of food, creating new landscape of world nutrition. The European Union (UE) began requiring all exporting countries to develop their markets and adopt systems of control and risk management similar to that used by them as to the identification and registration of animals. Brazil, not to lose one of its major markets had to adapt to this trend and create your own tracking system. The many changes took place in the Brazilian traceability system to meet the various requirements of consumer markets, dictated by the UE. These changes always generate instability in production levels, which must adapt their system standards required for them to negotiate their product to overseas market. During the process of deploying the service traceability Brazil, many farmers eventually exempt from the system. In late 2006, faced with the need for further adjustments to UE requirements, the traceability system was reformulated to Brazilian revoked regulations and instructions. As new traceability rules have affected the Brazilian beef exports to UE. There was a decrease in the number of rural establishments authorized to export, coinciding with the introduction of new standards per ban Brazilian beef. You can see that this increase in the number of farms exporting not guarantee the recovery of Brazilian exports to the UE. Brazil still is far from reaching its potential for beef exports to both UE and for the other importing countries.
