The objective of this study was to evaluate the carcass characteristics, including tissue composition, of kids from Bremeya breed compared with those from (Murciano Granadina). The results show that there are differences in all quality variables analyzed, except the width of the tarsus. The highest values for all variables were consistent with Bermeya, probably due to its greater meat potential. In tissue composition Bermeya had the highest percentage of bone and muscle in the shoulder. On the other hand, fat percentage was much higher in Murciano Granadina because of its dairy purpose. In summary, Bermeya was a breed with less fat and more muscle than Murciano-Granadina, at the studied slaughter weights.
