The collection of lichens from 2 scientific expeditions, Crocker Range Scientific Expedition (14-23 Oct 1999) and Fraser's Hill Expedition 2000 (13-16 Nov 2000) by the UKM lichen research group will be highlighted. In this report we also present our recent work on the chemistry of lichens Heterodermia flabellata collected from Gunung Jerai, Kedah and H. leucomelos from Cameron Highlands, Pahang. The lichen Cladia aggregata, collected for the first time from Gunung Jerai in Peninsular Malaysia, was also investigated. Both Heterodermia flabellata and H. leucomelos revealed the presence of atranorin (1) and zeorin (2) whilst Cladia aggregata revealed the presence of barbatic acid (3) and 4-0-demethylbarbatic acid (4). Teloschistesflavicans collected from Fraser's Hill gave 2 compounds namely parietin (6) and vicanicin (7).
