Trichoderma spp., isolated from roots of various healthy plants in the PFZ(s) area were subjected to nursery trials to(i) study the growth response of Acacia mangium seedling in the nursery, and (ii) assess the potential of Trichoderma spp. as biological control of diseases of Acacia mangium in the nursery. Nursery trials showed that Trichoderma spp had increased 74% in seedling height compared to fungicide treatment and 49% to control untreated treatment, 11% in plant diameter as compared to the fungicide treatment, 24% to control untreated treatment. There was an observed 36% increase in the number of germinated seeds compared to the untreated control and 30% to fungicide. There was also a significant increased of 54% in the plantable seedlings when treated with Trichoderma, and 68% in the seedlings with fungicidal treatment.
