Impact of NP fertilizer doses on the growth and yield of new cotton varieties

The study was carried out to investigate the effect of NP fertilizer doses on the growth and seed cotton yield of new cotton varieties. The treatments combination included T1 = F1V1, T2 = F1V2, T3 = F1V3, T4 = F2V1, T5 = F2V2, T6 = F2V3, T7 = F3V1, T8 = F3V2, T9 = F3V3, T10 = F4V1, T11 = F4V1 and T12 = F4V1. Cotton varieties tested were V1 = TH-06/02 (Koonj), V2 = TH-35/90 (Sindh-1) and V3 = Hari Dost and fertilizer doses were 74-37, 110-55, 114-72 and 180-90 NP kg per ha. Results revealed that maximum plant population obtained from F4 variety TH-35/99, which produced maximum plant population, 264.8 and 267.4. Maximum plant height 132 cm was recorded from F4, variety Hari Dost produced taller plants 128 cm than other varieties. Maximum number 1.8 monopodial branches per plant was recorded from F4 and variety Hari Dost 1.1, number of sympodial branches per plant was 23.0 recorded from F4 and variety Hari Dost produced 23.2 respectively.
