Performance evaluation of the selected tillage implements under the saline-sodic soils

In order to evaluate the performance of selected tillage implements under the saline-sodic soils sand soil physical properties, study was carried out at Latif Experimental Farm, Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam in May, 2007. The performance of five tillage implements (Mouldboard plow, Disc plow, Sat-Hari, Disc harrow and cultivator) were compared. The soil moisture content and bulk density in the soil before operation were 10.96, 15.05 and 20.26 percent and 1.32, 1.32 and 1.34g cm-3 at 0-15, 15-30 and 30-45 cm depth respectively. After tillage treatment the soil moisture content less in plot treated by cultivator, while more incase of Mould board plow treated plot and bulk density less by Disc harrow, while more by Mould board plow.
