Effect of planting density and time of sowing on the yield and quality of cotton under agro-ecological conditions of Rahim Yar Khan
2007
Ali, M.
The research studies were conducted at Adaptive Research Station, Rahim Yar Khan, using RCBD with split plot arrangement in three replications. The treatments were three different plants pacing i.e. S1 (15 cm), S2 (22.5 cm) and S3 (30 cm) and there were four sowing dates i.e. D1 (15 May), D2 (1st June), D3 (15 June) and D4 (30 June). The plot size was 7.5mx13m. Results show that the plant height was significantly influenced by four sowing dates used. Maximum value (130.2 cm) of plant height was achieved by D1 (15 May), followed by D2 (1st June), which was 127.7 cm. While D4 (30 June) achieved height of 115.5 cm. The effect of plant spacing remained non-significant. Sowing dates significantly influenced the number of nodes per plant. Maximum value 36.98 of number of nodes per plant was obtained by D1 (15 May), followed by D2 (1st June), which was 36.36. While D4 (30 June) attained 34.98 number of nodes per plant. The effect of plant spacing was non significant. Sowing dates a
